FAMILY

Lately our lives have been so full with all the things that come with shooting weddings. Not just the day itself but the preparation beforehand; emails, chats, pre-wed shoots, charging, checking and rechecking that everything is ready and up to scratch. And afterwards; backing up, sorting, editing, posting and getting ready to do it all again. We love it, we really do, but it does mean that in the chaos other, important things get a little bit neglected. Thankfully our families are amazing. Literally I don't know what we would do without them and our wonderful kids go pillar to post with only the odd complaint!
So a few weeks ago, it the midst of it all, we took one day to get together with my family. Aunts, uncles, cousins, kids and all. It was a day organised by my great aunt. A memorial gathering to remember her husband of so many years who passed away at the beginning of the year. It was a happy day. We planted a rose, stood in his garden that he loved so much, chatted, laughed, ate and drank. It has been a very long time since we've all been in one place. I hope it isn't as long until the next time...
